Families are built with mutual trust, supporting parents and a strong community element. Children develop in schools learning about science, sports, literature, social studies, languages and so on. The contribution of Christianity in schools detracts from critical thinking and particularly in European lands the Celtic backbone was usurped by the Abrahamics and allowed proxy takeovers to happen in various countries in around Europe.
Ultimately it stems from Ancient Egyptian Cabalism and Cryptic texts to confuse and subdue a nation whilst physical attacks gradually increase. Below is a list of Abrahamic battles that have taken place in and around Europe in the 20th century alone.
I propose we return to Celtic ways of life where Diety worship is optional but more localised and more genetically focussed. Those who worship any Abrahamic - whether that's Christianity, Islam or Judaism. They are holding the door open to the foreign proliferation and exploitation of ideas.
Christianity is by far the most muted of Abrahamics and could have solved a lot but ultimately it's led to a competing battle - a bloody - competing - battle.
Here's that list.
20th-Century Conflicts in Europe Linked to Abrahamic Religions
1. The Irish Conflict (Early 1900s – 1998)
Religious dimension: Catholic vs. Protestant
- Irish War of Independence (1919–1921)
- Irish Civil War (1922–1923)
- The Troubles (late 1960s–1998) – Catholic/Nationalist vs. Protestant/Unionist identities
- Religion = identity factor; root causes = colonialism, national sovereignty, political rights.
2. The Balkan Wars (1912–1913)
Religious dimension: Orthodox Christian, Muslim, and Catholic identities
- Fought by Balkan states vs. the Muslim-majority Ottoman Empire
- Religion intertwined with national liberation movements.
3. World War I (1914–1918) – minor religious dimension
Not a religious war, but:
- Christian identities shaped some propaganda.
- Conflicts in the Balkans involved Orthodox, Catholic, and Muslim populations under collapsing Ottoman influence.
4. Greek–Turkish War (1919–1922)
Religious identity: Orthodox Christian Greeks vs. Muslim Turks
- A continuation of the collapsing Ottoman Empire period.
- Massive population exchanges based explicitly on religion (Treaty of Lausanne).
5. Spanish Civil War (1936–1939)
Religious dimension: Catholic Church vs. secular/anti-clerical factions
- The Church supported Franco’s Nationalists.
- Violence included anti-clerical killings and repression of religious institutions.
6. World War II religiously linked violence (1939–1945)
Not a religious war, but involved mass religious persecution:
- The Holocaust: genocide targeting Jews (Judaism), and also Roma and others.
- Persecution of religious groups including some Christian minorities.
- Religious identity was targeted by Nazi ideology.
7. Post-WWII Anti-Jewish Violence in Europe (1945–1950s)
- Pogroms in Poland and Eastern Europe targeting Jewish survivors returning home.
- Rooted in antisemitism, not conflict between religions.
8. Cyprus Conflict (1955–1974)
Religious dimension: Greek Orthodox vs. Turkish Muslim communities
- Greek Cypriot nationalist movement vs. Turkish Cypriots.
- 1974 Turkish invasion and partition.
- Religion partly overlapped with ethnicity and national identity.
9. Yugoslav Wars (1991–1999)
Religious dimensions:
- Orthodox Serbs, Catholic Croats, Muslim Bosniaks, Kosovar Muslims
- Conflicts included:
- Croatian War (1991–1995)
- Bosnian War (1992–1995)
- Kosovo War (1998–1999)
- Religion = major identity marker, but the wars were fundamentally ethnic-nationalist.
🇪🇺 20th-Century Religious Terrorism in Europe
A. Irish Republican and Loyalist Terrorism (1960s–1990s)
- IRA (Catholic/nationalist background)
- UVF/UDA (Protestant/unionist background)
- Motivations mostly political, but communities mapped onto religious lines.
B. Far-Right Christian-Identitarian Terrorism (Late 20th century)
Examples include:
- Some extremist groups in the Balkans and Eastern Europe using Christian symbolism.
- Not mainstream Christianity.
C. Islamist-linked Terrorism (late 20th century)
Started increasing in the 1990s, mostly:
- Attacks linked to the Algerian Civil War overspill (GIA attacks in France, mid-1990s).
- Networks related to Afghanistan veterans.
- (Note: Most major Islamist attacks in Europe happened after 2000, not in the 20th century.)
